Selected student work

I HAVE TAUGHT FOR MORE THAN TEN YEARS.

In San Diego, I was asked to teach a publication design class at a local arts college — and fell in love with teaching. I taught one or two college-level classes per quarter as an adjunct faculty member ever since for the next decade.

Since 2007, I've taught diverse classes on topics from design to photojournalism. In 2012, I taught a media law and ethics class that I wrote for advanced students in Portland. Austin James Jackson, one of my most inspiring students, went on to shoot the cover of Backpacker Magazine.

Most recently, I spent a year teaching journalism at the Walter Cronkite School of Journalism at Arizona State University. I also taught design at Grand Canyon University in Phoenix.
